About Us

Dr. Arlen N. Magelitz, DPT

I'm Arlen Magelitz, the founder of Magelitz Clinic. I graduated from the University of Evansville in 2019 with my bachelors in exercise science, and in 2021 with my doctorate in physical therapy.

I founded Magelitz Clinic in 2024 in order to bring individualized, quality care to my patients. I believe that it is not possible to provide that level of care when insurances, administrators, or corporate interests are involved. Instead, I wanted to provide this care at a transparent and flat price point.

I specialize in conservative treatment of the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and vestibular systems. I can't provide these services without the help of my amazing team. They're truly the specialists here.

Central Illinois is my home, I grew up on a farm just outside of Virden. My family farm taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and integrity. I believe these are the best principles to guide a business, and I try my best to bring each of these into the clinic every day. â€‹

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy hiking and spending time with my wife, dog, cats, and goats. You can also find me in a tractor, backhoe, or any other type of heavy machinery on the farm.

Sarah Hocking, PTA

Hi! I’m Sarah Hocking and I am your new Physical Therapist Assistant. I graduated from PTA school in 2014 from Black Hawk College in Moline, IL. I also have a Physical Therapist Assistant Bachelor’s Degree from Pima Medical Institute.

I have experience pretty much everywhere – hospital, nursing home, home health, outpatient rehab – you name it. While I have enjoyed all of these, my greatest love is in the outpatient setting, as I feel like I can really form relationships with my patients.

I am a Springfield, IL native and am looking forward to giving back to the community with education and top-notch treatment from anything head to toe.

Since becoming a mom of two littles, my biggest passion is women’s health and pelvic floor physical therapy. Not many people know this exists and I want to change that. I have the knowledge and experience to treat women throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. I am Pelvic Floor certified through Herman and Wallace, as well as SFMA level 1 and 2 certified.

I am a big believer of treating each person as a unique individual, getting down to the root of the problem, and treating the body as a whole.

My husband and I have two Australian Shepherds, so we are very active and love the outdoors. We love to travel, hike, and go to fun concerts! We can’t wait to watch our two boys grow up in the central IL area, as this has always been home to me.

Brad Blevins, PTA

I'm Brad Blevins, your orthopedic specialist physical therapist assistant. I graduated from SIUE in 2008 with a bachelors and masters in kinesiology. I then graduated from Southwestern Illinois college in 2009 with my PTA degree.

Growing up I was a multi-sport athlete (baseball, soccer, track), and ran 4 years for SIUE, specializing in sprints and hurdles. Because of this background, I understand the mentality of athletes and the need to compete.

I have 15 years of outpatient experience with a heavy focus on orthopedics. From sprained ankles to joint replacements, I have treated varying types of each injury and fully appreciate that no two patients are the same. The key is to create an individualized treatment plan based on each person's goals and skill level.

Every sport has specific athlete types, and I really enjoy coming up with specific exercises and treatment plans for all of them.

I've treated youth athletes all the way up to Triple A and professional pitchers. From this experience I've learned how important preventative care, in addition to rehabilitative, is in having a longer athletic career.

How We Operate

Why

In everything we do, we strive to make excellence the standard, not the exception.

This guides how we treat every patient, and how we make every business decision.

How

Bravery

We aren't going to change healthcare by being passive. We challenge the system, even when it is scary to do so.

Hard Work

Dishonest wealth will dwindle. What is earned through hard work will multiply.

Integrity

We do what is right, not what is easy.

Excellence in the Ordinary

The way we do the little things is the way we do everything.

Ownership

The buck stops here. Patients come to us for answers, and we find them.

Team

We share our wins and losses together, and build each other up.

Our core beliefs guide us in what excellence looks like:

What

We treat pain and dysfunction conservatively, and teach you how to prevent it from returning.

We treat patients at The Zone in Virden, and M Fitness in Springfield. The leadership teams at The Zone and M Fitness are incredibly passionate about health and fitness, and we are honored to partner with them.

These partnerships allow for a seamless transition to the next stage of your health journey after working with us.
